Everything You Need to Know About Leslie
Leslie Schlachter has been a certified Physician Assistant in New York City since 2008. She graduated from the Pace University PA Program at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Leslie did her undergraduate degree in business at The George Washington University, where she was a NCAA Division 1 basketball player. She then played professional basketball in Israel for one year before returning to the United States. She received her post-baccalaureate education while working in pharmaceutical sales at Pfizer.
Life After Graduation
After graduation from PA school in 2008, she began her career at The Mount Sinai Hospital in the department of Urology. As a new graduate and the only PA in the department, Leslie was able to build her outpatient, procedural, surgical, and leadership skills. After helping build the department and serving as medical director of the Men’s Health Program at Mount Sinai, she transitioned to the department of Neurosurgery.
Stellar Medical Services
In 2015 Leslie took on the clinical director and chief PA role in The Mount Sinai Health System Department of Neurosurgery, specializing in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery. She currently cares for patients in the outpatient office, inpatient setting and assists in surgery. In her clinical role, patient satisfaction and the patient care experience are of utmost importance for her, which she believes directly correlates to patient outcomes.
Leslie is also the chief PA overseeing over 100 Neuroscience NP and PAs in The Mount Sinai Health System. Leslie is also the assistant site director at The Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Physician Assistant Services.
Consistent Patient Care Efforts
Leslie is working to build the reputation of physician assistants and improve the quality and access to care to patients locally, nationally, and internationally.
She is also certified in anti-aging and anti-inflammatory medicine. She focuses on bettering herself and her patients through integrative medicine and wellness practices. Leslie, her husband, and two children live on the upper east side of New York City. She enjoys self-care, exercise, and cooking.
